The Centre Pompidou in Paris is dishing out a healthy dose of design this quarter with an exhibit dedicated to the artwork and product design of Ron Arad, whose works have graced the catalogs of Vitra, Moroso, and Kartell, among others. From now through March 16, a near exhaustive collection of Arad's limited edition designs, lighting concepts, and sculptural art is on display at the French institution.

Titled "No Discipline," this retrospective—a growing trend by the Centre, which previously exhibited the works of Philippe Starck, Gaetano Pesce, and Charlotte Perriand—presents emblematic examples of Arad's designs, from prototypes to mass-produced objects, as well as architectural projects. The show features a replica of his 1994 organic staircase in the Tel Aviv Opera House, as well as a projected film highlighting his latest architectural endeavor, the Holon Design Museum, now under construction in Israel.

Displayed on the Centre’s ground floor, the exhibit offers passersby a street-side view of massive scaffolding—comprised of varying sizes of construction tubing—housing Arad's widely-known designs, as well as a series of small videos on screen. The works demonstrate Arad's interest in technology, showcasing sculptural chairs in carbon fiber or silicone, vases produced by stereo-lithography, and lamps that receive and display text messages.

From Paris, the show will travel this summer to New York's Museum of Modern Art.
