Big BAM

Mark McMenamin and Meghan Edwards, Edited by Annie Block -- Interior Design, 2/1/2010 12:00:00 AM

Commissioned to replace the carpet in the cinema center at New York's Brooklyn Academy of Music, designers with a flair for the obvious might have simply rolled out the red. Madeline Weinrib, on the other hand, conjured up free-flowing botanical imagery. The painter-turned-designer's nylon carpet tiles now grace the center's lobby and four screening rooms. Ready for the sequel? InterfaceFlor's adaptation of her custom pattern debuts later this year.
