On the Move

Here's this week's roundup of who's doing what and where in the design community.

Nicholas Tamarin -- Interior Design, 12/5/2008 12:00:00 AM

Peter Templeton is the new president of the Green Building Certification Institute. Templeton was most recently senior vice president of education and research for the U.S. Green Building Council, where he led the annual Greenbuild Expo, LEED training and professional certification programs, and green building research initiatives. Templeton was the second staffer hired by the USGBC after its founding in 2000 and served as director of LEED until July 2005.

Carlo Guglielmi, currently president and CEO of FontanaArte, has been named president of Cosmit, the trade fair organizer behind the annual Salone Internazionale del Mobile.

Alfonso D'Elia has joined Northeastern design firm Butler Rogers Baskett as partner. D'Elia was previously principal at firms including Mancini Duffy, Interior Architects and Hillier.

Fixture manufacturer and project management firm idX Corporation has named Patrick Yim as the company's new general manager and vice president of Asian operations.

Workplace furniture manufacturer Allsteel has promoted Holly Huff to the position of architecture and design specialist for the greater Washington, D.C. area. The company also hired Melanie Wick as business development manager for their southwest region.

Henning Bloech is the new global sustainability director of performance surfaces and materials for polymer and fiber manufacturer Invista.

Global materials consultancy Material ConneXion has relocated its New York headquarters to 60 Madison Avenue.
