This summer, drop by the courtyard of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in Long Island City to enjoy a refuge from the heat, complete with pools, hammocks, and walls of fans. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and P.S.1 present subWave, the winning entry of the Second Annual MoMA/P.S.1 Young Architects Program. The program was initiated to identify and display emerging talent in architecture by asking entrants to design the best use of P.S.1's outdoor galleries for an allocated budget of $50,000. subWave (renderings of which are shown, right) was dreamed up by New York-based ROY Co., headed by principal Lindy Roy.
