Healthcare design firm HDR Architecture is merging with science and technology design firm CUH2A to create a unified company focusing on healthcare and life and physical sciences research. The deal, set to be completed by the end of the month, will result in a merged company boasting 1,700 architecture, engineering, and planning employees in more than 40 locations worldwide.
Healthcare and educational design firm Anshen + Allen has named Gina Kish to lead healthcare planning and design activities in its Boston office. Kish was most recently a principal at Cannon Design in Boston.
The board of trustees of New York's Whitney Museum of American Art has named current chairman Leonard Lauder as chairman emeritus, Robert Hurst and Brooke Garber Neidich as co-chairmen, and Neil Bluhm as president.
New York-based Swanke Hayden Connell Architects has named William Nathans an associate. In his new position, Nathans will serve as a senior project manager for the firm's healthcare practice.
Hickory Hardware marketing channel manager David Fields is the newly-elected vice president of the non-profit Home Improvement Research Institute.
The Green Standard, an organization dedicated to developing resources that support sustainable production and consumption, has named Paul Firth, former manager of sustainable strategies at carpet manufacturer, vice president of technology.
