Let's Dance

edited by Sheila Kim-Jamet -- Interior Design, 1/1/2006 12:00:00 AM

San Francisco's Oberlin Dance Collective will soon kick up its heels at the ODC Dance Commons. Designed by John Maitland, formerly of Architecture & Light, the new structure incorporates two factory buildings down the block from the original theater. The expansion gives ODC dancers an additional 23,000 square feet, which Maitland used for three performance spaces, six rehearsal studios, a Pilates room, offices, lobby galleries, a wellness clinic for dancers, and a community lounge— all rendered in steel, glass, and recycled lumber.
