MBDC Awards 17 Cradle to Cradle Certifications

Herman Miller, Energy Barriers, and Victor Innovatex take home Gold.

Celle by Herman Miller The manufacturing industry continues to make sustainable strides: Seventeen new products recently earned Cradle to Cradle Certification from product and process design consulting firm McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry. Co-founded by William McDonough and Dr. Michael Braungart, MBDC issues Cradle to Cradle Certification for "significant, tangible progress in designing more environmentally sustaining products."

Office furniture manufacturer Herman Miller, surface coating manufacturer Energy Barriers, and textile manufacturer Victor Innovatex take top billing—each collected more than one Gold certification, the highest Cradle to Cradle rating.

Leap by Steelcase “As more products receive these awards, it is becoming easier for consumers and product specifiers to identify products that are on a clear path to more sustaining designs,” says Ken Alston, CEO of MBDC. “Every product is re-evaluated on an annual basis to check progress towards agreed improvement goals."
