On the Move

Here's this week's roundup of who's doing what and where in the design community.

Nicholas Tamarin -- Interior Design, 12/19/2008 12:00:00 AM

Peter Conway reacquired Halcon Corporation, the company he founded in 1977. Conway, now president and CEO of Halcon, purchased the company back from Teknion, the company he sold Halcon to in 1999.

Sherida Paulsen is the new president of AIA New York. Paulsen formerly headed New York's
Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Kris Yates was named vice president of product management and marketing at office furniture specialist Allsteel.

Patrician Furniture, the High Point, North Carolina-based manufacturer, named David Pustell as national sales manager. Pustell was previously regional director for HON.

Stephen Beacham accepted the newly created position of associate principal in the corporate interiors practice of Philadelphia-based architecture firm Daroff Design. Beacham was most recently an associate principal and director of interiors for RMJM Hillier.

International interior design firm Perkins + Will hired Brenda Smith, a former nurse, as team leader for healthcare interiors in its Atlanta office.

Suzie Williford of Kiva Kitchen & Bath in Houston is the new national president of the National Kitchen & Bath Association.

The New York School of Interior Design appointed Andrea O'Neill as vice president for institutional advancement, a new position for the college. Starting January 12, O'Neill will oversee all fundraising activities for the college.
