On the Move

Here's this week's roundup of who's doing what, and where, in the design community.

Russell Perry is the new managing director for the Washington, D.C. office of architecture and interior design firm SmithGroup.

Workplace manufacturer Allsteel has three new business managers: Susan Flanagan joins Allsteel as a business development manager for the Southwest, Russell Mowry is taking the same position in the Midwest region, and Richard Walker will serve as market manager for western Canada.

Maria Martinico is the new global practice leader of commercial interiors for architectural and engineering firm HKS, based in the firm's Orange County office.

Emmanuel Plat is the new president of the New York outpost of The Conran Shop. Plat joined the company in 1992 and has been vice president of the New York design store since 2004.

David Cooper is the new president and chief executive officer of national mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications systems designer Flack + Kurtz.

Ronald Witt, Sr., founder and chief executive officer of the Sweetwater Construction Corp., is resuming his role as president of the company.

Furniture manufacturer Agati has added Timothy Macal to its sales team. Macal will be based in the company's Chicago headquarters and will focus on the healthcare market.
