Faux-bohemian retailer Urban Outfitters, a favorite of city dwellers and college students throughout the country, has launched a new line of its trademark funky furniture, this time by the mod design triumverate Blu Dot.

Launched in June, the six-piece collection of seating, tables, and sofas features the streamlined silhouettes Blu Dot is known for. Dubbed Too by Blu Dot, the line ranges in price from $98 for the mid-century modern inspired white Tripod side table in MDF (a chartreuse version is also available) to $648 for the more sophisticated gray Bendzo three-seat sofa in walnut veneer and felt.

There is also $548 Eames-inspired Slider Console in lacquered MDF with baby blue, white, and yellow lacquered MDF sliders, and the retro Pinch Chair in powder-coated metal and charcoal felt for $128. The series standout, however, is the asymmetrical Easy Reader side table in MDF and melamine, at $148 dollars.

For their part, Blu Dot, founded in 1997 by three friends from Williams College, John Christakos, Charles Lazor, and Maurice Blanks, says they were inspired by their shared passion for art, architecture, and a goal to bring good design to as many people as possible. "The collection represents solid values given the detailing and quality materials," says Christakos.

The pieces are available exclusively at Urban Outfitters stores and online at urbanoutfitters.com.
