Hey, Nice Nest: Demeyere Cookware

Elizabeth Wine -- Interior Design, 7/1/2009 12:00:00 AM

After traveling the world to design live and work spaces for everyone from Calvin Klein to Trappist monks, Interior Design Hall of Fame member John Pawson stayed home to explore. . .the kitchen. His namesake pots and pans for the 101-year-old company Demeyere are ultra-minimalist, of course, so every detail counts—from the angle where the handle meets the body of a pot to its seven-layer base, which contains copper for conductivity. All six pots and four pans are dishwasher-safe and finished with an electrochemical treatment that should maintain the stainless-steel surfaces even after years of use. And no fingerprint smudges! 32-14-285-210; demeyerecookware.com. circle 436
