Simplicity Itself

The Aussie collection isn't exactly audacious, but it's notable for fine lines and craftsmanship—hallmarks of Baltimore's family-owned David Edward company, now celebrating its 40th anniversary. Designer Paul Von Sas relied on lean, rectilinear forms to create the pieces, including the recently introduced maple-and-glass console and upholstered-back chair and settee. 1407 Parker Road, Baltimore, MD 21227; 410-242-2222; davidedward.com. circle 347

Rough and Ready

Forget the Louis XVI bergère in the drawing room—we're sick of sitting pretty. We'd rather look cool at the lounge or restaurant of the moment, pulling up one of these rough-hewn varnished acacia stools. Sure to make a lasting impression, they're available at Tucker Robbins's new showroom. 139 East 57th Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10022; 212-355-3383; tuckerrobbins.com. circle 348

Cabot Wrenn

After cornering the market on corner offices, this company is proving its appeal outside the executive arena: Marriott and Hilton are clients. The Devo series of seating and tables could be the next crossover success. Designed by Terrance Hunt, this eye-catching chair is definitely one to watch. P.O. Box 1767, Hickory, NC 28603; 828-495-4607; cabotwrenn.com. circle 349

Andreu World

Sleek RDL side chairs, armchairs, lounge chairs, and bar stools invite serious lingering. The curved seats are made of laser-cut oak or beech plywood. DesignLink, 79 Grand Street, New York, NY 10013; 212-226-2268; deslink.com. circle 352

Ted Boerner

While dramatic ebonized finishes still have their fans, we've noticed that a softer, blond look is making its way back into the limelight. We love the lightness of these nesting cocktail tables in transparent acrylic and white oak with a weimaraner finish. Available as a group or individually, the tables also come in cherry, walnut, mahogany, or vertical-grain fir. 10 Arkansas Street, Studio G, San Francisco, CA 94107; 415-487-0110; tedboerner.com. circle 351

Dessin Fournir

Los Angeles designer Kerry Joyce recently launched his 50-piece signature furniture collection for Dessin Fournir. We immediately fell for the classic curves of the rosewood Jordan table. 308 West Mill Street, Plainville, KS 67601; 785-434-2777; dessinfournir.com. circle 350
