Swan Song

edited by Sheila Kim -- Interior Design, 8/1/2002 12:00:00 AM

The Egg and Swan chairs represent him at his most iconic, but the full spectrum of his talent is evident in "Arne Jacobsen: A Centenary Exhibition." Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Danish architect's birth, the exhibition at Scandinavia House in New York focuses on classic pieces—from furniture to faucets—as well as six of his major buildings: the National Bank, Rødovre Town Hall, Munkegärd School, bathing area at Bellevue Beach, and SAS Royal Hotel (all in Denmark), plus St. Catherine's College of Oxford University in the U.K. September 27-November 9; 212-879-9779; amscan.org.
