Dform

Pinwheel's whirling pattern of intricately interlocking wood veneers leaves us wowed, if not dizzy. We also appreciate its three-dimensionality and warm translucency when backlit. Designed by James Dieter, Pinwheel is one of three patterns of wood-veneer or plastic-tile panels, which can be used in a variety of architectural applications. Visit site.

Nass Fresco Finishes

Nothing evokes the Old World—careful, not "old Europe"—like fresco. Made of 70 percent recycled paper pulp, Nass frescoes can be customized for finishes such as Metallico. Visit site.

Sóko

This company's debut tile collection includes squares, rectangles, triangles, and frames, allowing for an infinite number of patterns. Created by award- winning artist Cari Jaye Sokoloff, the designs combine an earthy look with contemporary form. Visit site.

Art in Stone

Available in wall-size mural or smaller panel sizes, this company's products—carved from sandstone—combine traditional craft with contemporary lines. Frond is sure to imbue any space with an immediate sense of history. Through Warisan. Visit site.

Paris Ceramics

The Marquis de Pompadour carved stone chimneypiece is undeniably aristocratic. Each is custom sized, so this signature element will never look off-the-rack.

Tile of Spain

A sampling from some of Spain's top tile manufacturers reveals the richness of rustic glazed porcelain. We especially like the weathered look of Halcon Ceramica's Jaspe Tierra mosaic and the delicious depth of Ceramica Gomez's Piazarra Verde.

Caesarstone

Dramatize your countertop with the Reflections line of quartz surfacing, which is available in ebony, pacific, white quartz, and ruby reflections. Visit site.
