Light Fair

Lightfair is getting bigger.

Already the largest architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference in the world, Lightfair International is expanding its curriculum lineup. It is set to offer a whopping 68 unique courses and 32 seminars over its three-day run in Las Vegas from May 12-14.

Light Fair

The courses are broken up into seven distinct educational tracts and total more than 200 accredited hours for the AIA, ASID, IIDA, IES, and IFMA. Additions to the annual event include the launch of a Building Integration track, located in the newest pavilion on the Las Vegas Convention Center show floor, which will educate attendees on energy efficiencies, give tips on optimizing a building's overall performance, and provide analysis and comparisons on improving efficiencies. Other conference topics set to be covered are Controls for Daylighting, Daylight Management in Commercial Buildings, Simulation Tools, Controls, Codes, BIM/IPD and Color, and Design.

Attendees might want to arrive in Sin City a couple of days earlier for the show's Daylighting and Lightfair Institutes, both taking place from May 10-11. Daylighting will feature 11 workshops and a two-day fundamentals course. There will also be courses on daylighting management tools, metrics, harvesting, and control systems. Meanwhile, the Lightfair Institute will include a complete three-level lighting series which will be introduced with the addition of a new two-day advanced lighting course to enhance the existing Basic and Intermediate lighting immersion courses. The Lightfair Institute also boasts 16 workshops, a tour, and three one-day courses.
