Two for the Road

edited by Craig Kellogg -- Interior Design, 4/1/2006 12:00:00 AM

Buckminster Fuller drafted his buddy Isamu Noguchi to sculpt the body of the Dymaxion car, a fuel-thrifty vehicle on three wheels. We don't care who was in the driver's seat. (Neither should Detroit. Just build one!) A model of the 1933 design is in "Best of Friends: Buckminster Fuller and Isamu Noguchi" at the Noguchi Museum in Long Island City, New York. May 19–October 15; 718-204-7088; noguchi.org.
