A ceremony will be held in May during the AIA National Convention and Design Exposition, which will be held in San Antonio.

Meaghan O'Neill -- Interior Design, 1/23/2007 12:00:00 AM

Starting with an enormous 700 submissions, jurors of the American Institute of Architects Honor Awards for 2007 whittled winners down to 29 projects. The awards, which exemplify excellence in architecture, interior architecture, and urban design, are largely considered one of the profession’s highest recognitions. Recipients will be honored in May at the AIA 2007 National Convention and Design Exposition, which will be held in San Antonio.

Honor Awards in Architecture
Eleven worthy projects were selected for Honor Awards in Architecture this year, with schools and educational facilities making a particularly strong showing—eight awards were for these types of facilities. “This year’s collection of projects demonstrates that bold, sculptural expressions of form can be as captivating as ever, yet rational, elegant solutions to structural, programmatic, community and environmental issues can be equally compelling,” says jury chair, Richard A. Logan. The winning projects are:
