Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization the Ed Bacon Foundation is seeking submissions to its second annual national student design competition: Connecting Market East. Calling for design plans improving Market East in Center City Philadelphia, the contest carries $6,000 in prizes, including $2,000 for first prize. Entries are due on September 3.
The program is open to architecture, planning, and design students throughout North America. Designs should create a way to transition Market East and its destinations to the street, transit, and the city.
Winners will be selected by a national jury, and announced in October at a special awards ceremony. Last year, applicants from eight states and Canada addressed Philadelphia’s Penn Center.
The Ed Bacon Foundation is committed to advancing Philadelphia’s quality of life and international stature through the vision of Philadelphia city planner, Edmund N. Bacon.
More information about the contest is available at Ed Bacon Foundation.
We would love your feedback!
