Prior to the World Trade Center disaster, the Skyscraper Museum in New York had planned a lecture series on the history of the complex, with a speaker lineup including the Towers' structural engineer Leslie Robertson and developer Larry Silverstein, among others. Although the series was postponed, the museum is going forward with plans for a major exhibition drawing on archival photography of the World Trade Center. Entitled Monument, the exhibition is scheduled for early February at the New York Historical Society. (At press time, no further information is available.) Skyscraper Museum, (212) 968-1961.

Before the tragedy at the Pentagon, the building was undergoing a full-scale renovation that began on one side or "wedge" of the structure (coincidentally, the side that was destroyed on September 11th). The officials, dissatisfied with the in-house renovation job done on the first section, selected Studios Architecture, just three weeks before the tragedy, to be part of a team to redesign the Pentagon over the next 12 to 14 years. Following the disaster, the Pentagon has decided to continue the renovation process with modification to phasing.
