Quick-Change Artists

Mark McMenamin -- Interior Design, 4/1/2010 12:00:00 AM

Sales floors are always in a state of flux. (In the world of fashion, one day you're in—the next day you're out.) And nowhere does change go faster than New York, where Alu's multitasking point-of-sale merchandising solutions have established a U.S. beachhead, a 5,400-square-foot showroom by creative director Luca Pavani.

Inventive configurations are no challenge for Ribbon, a strip that adheres to the wall horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to support various components. Equally versatile are the Autopole Adapter, a four-way connector for bars and shelving, and the Mobile system's three-way joint, which allows steel tubes to be assembled in countless temporary or permanent display formats. The Multifunction Shelf can be used separately for shoes and eyewear or stacked and ganged to form a wall accepting graphics or peg hooks. Lightweight Loop disks do double duty as signage and display. Like the rest of the Alu lineup, they're completely customizable, aka tailor-made. 212-924-8713; alu.com. circle 420
