SHoP Architects Completes New York Residential Project

Interiors feature lux fittings and hardwood flooring.

Mairi Beautyman -- Interior Design, 2/20/2007 12:00:00 AM

m127 by SHoP ArchitectsSHoP Architects recently wrapped up its second residential project in New York, m127. Flaunting a brick exterior incorporating cantilevered custom steel windows, the 13-story building features lofts (nine currently for sale, topping off at 2,400 square feet) and two duplexes.

The design team blended seven existing floors into the plan, retaining historic details and the original building’s frame, and adding 21st century technology. For increased privacy, the top five new floors are set back 15 feet from the street. One duplex includes a terrace, the other a roof deck facing the Empire State Building. Inside, high-end fittings include Duravit tubs, Catalano sinks with faucets designed by Philippe Starck, custom white lacquered Schiffini kitchen cabinets, white Cararra marble counter tops, Sub Zero refrigerators, Bosch ranges, and Meile coffee systems. Flooring is planked walnut hardwood.

m127 was developed by Cardinal Investments; currently, SHoP has three more projects in the works for the firm. For sales information, contact Stribling & Associates.
