Bklyn Turns 5

Kelly Beamon, Jen DeRose, and Craig Kellogg -- Interior Design, 4/1/2007 12:00:00 AM

The annual flurry of furniture fairs is about to descend on New York. Bklyn Designs, now in its fifth year, is the show to see for the young, hip, and sustainably minded, who gather at St. Ann's Warehouse and two satellite venues. A pool of 200 applicants yielded 65 exhibitors—some of which, such as Aswoon and Michael Puryear, have been involved from the early years. They'll be joined by 30 newcomers; the fair's first store, Bklyn Designs +; and, at the nearby PowerHouse Arena, an exhibit named "Models & Prototypes Born in Brooklyn." May 11-13; 718-875-1000; bklyndesigns.com.
