Market Collection: Let Them Eat Fruit

Drawing inspiration from French 18th-century textiles found at the Château de Versailles, Mokum's Dauphine collection marries regal patterning and colors right out of a painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard with this company's quintessentially Australian lightheartedness. The 13-piece line's four solids and textures, including an alpaca velvet and a cotton-silk moiré, are fit for a princess, but it's the elaborate botanicals that truly command attention. With viscose-cotton Jardin des Tuileries, a dainty bouquet of flowers floats on a bed of happy graduated dots, while complementary Jardin features the same dots alone. Linen-rayon Petit Trianon, another floral, feels casual yet aristocratic. The exuberant Pomegranate, in viscose and linen, playfully reworks and multiplies a traditional symbol of abundance to form a scalloped medallion. Speaking of scallops, rayon-cotton Bargello depicts the stylized shells from which the rococo takes its name. 866-523-4437; mokumtextiles.com. circle 407
