Following the success of its 2006 premier, Source One will once again present the Source One Wallcovering Design Competition. Co-sponsored by Interior Design, the contest will recognize hospitality and corporate wallcovering designs.

Both categories are open to applicants. Winners will receive cash, publicity and VIP packages to Las Vegas and Chicago. Hospitality winners will be announced at HD Expo, May 2007, and corporate winners at NeoCon, June 2007. A panel of industry professionals will select winners based on design innovation, aesthetics, design originality, and suitability for intended use. On both judging panels are: Bob Lehrmitt and Sharon Drinkwine, source one designers, Lehrmitt Associates, Austin, Texas; Neville Lewis, professor and design consultant, School of Visual Arts, New York; and Karen Singh, Interior Design market editor, New York. The hospitality judging panel also includes Julius van Heek, vice president, Gettys, Chicago; Reggi Nichols, principal, Vivian | Nichols Associates, Dallas; and George Scammell, vice president, resort design, ForrestPerkins, Washington, D.C.

The corporate judging panel also includes Ken LeDoux, vice president, interior design director, Ellerbe Becket, Minneapolis; Mike McCoy, resource director, Heery International, Atlanta; Douglas Wittnebel, principal; and Susan Orlandi, associate, Gensler, San Ramon, California.

“Source One had a tremendous response to last year’s call for entries,”  notes Singh. “It was impressive to see the quality of the designs not only from professionals but from students as well.”  Entry forms are available online. Entries are due Friday, December 1, by 5 p.m. CST.
