Florida Fabrics

Staff -- Interior Design, 2/1/2002 12:00:00 AM

The Design Center of the Americas will present Fabric Fair 2002, a textiles showcase with related programs including a fashion-show luncheon with a keynote address by Interior Design editor in chief Cindy Allen on February 21. Because the fair coincides with Black History Month, there will also be an exhibit of African fabrics, beadwork, and basketry, curated by Cecil Hayes, one of the first African-American furniture designers and manufacturers. Sabina Fay Braxton, who has made fabrics for Valentino and Emanuel Ungaro and designed costumes for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, will display her work as well. February 18-22; 954-920-7997; www.dcota.com.
