Ferra Designs

We can think of a hundred places to use the Ferracube. The modernist lines are easy on the eye, and the contrasting colored top adds flair. Frames measuring 17, 24, and 28 inches are available in solid stainless steel, zinc, or blackened steel. The top comes in a variety of composite surfaces or in clear glass. Visit site.

Nusa Furniture

Forget the tablecloth. Meagan Jacobi's Lotus dining table features a gorgeous mother-of-pearl inlay, dramatically offset by the surrounding wengé. Visit site.

VCA

William Georgis and Thierry Despont rely on this company to fabricate handcrafted custom furnishings. VCA now offers its own design, the No. 130 night table. Strikingly handsome, it features an ebonized oak case, green suede drawer front, and patinated brass details. No. 130 measures 24 inches wide by 15 inches deep by 20 inches high. Phone 413-527-2127 for information.

Habita Collections

There's something inextricably Italian about the Novak bed. Its effortless, unapologetic sophistication, perhaps? Cane inserts lighten the headboard's solid wood frame, which is finished in light or dark stained oak. Phone 866-342-2482 for information.

Roche Bobois

Part of Paola Navone's Ping Pong collection, these tables are endowed with a decidedly solid silhouette. Hammered-metal legs add visual interest. Phone 212-889-5304 for information.

Comerford Hennessy at Home

The U-Dining table is distinguished by the assured clarity of its lines. Its modern presence is warmed by wood. Shown in mahogany; also available in walnut, cherry, or oak. Visit site.

Artelano

We like the delicate balance of Irène Spreafico's Butterfly table. A clear laminated-glass top hovers above an angular base of fuchsia and yellow laminated glass. Two versions, high and round or low and rectangular, are available. Phone, in France, 33-1-44-42-01-61.

Cassina

The rigorously geometric Levels bed was created by a Swiss designer, the acclaimed Hannes Wettstein. Its landscape of precise forms includes square or rectangular storage chests, which can be placed alongside or partly under the bed. The glossy white lacquered headboard complements the gray lacquered frame. Visit site.
