Here's this week's roundup of who’s doing what, where in the design community.

Thomas Fumarelli has been appointed president of luxury furnishings and textiles design house Holly Hunt. Fumarelli´s resume includes a 14-year stint at luxury brand Chanel and most recently, four years as chief operating officer of sporting goods companies Watermark Paddlesports and Yakima Products.

Paolo Cravedi joins plastic product manufacturer Kartell as managing director for Kartell US. Cravedi will lead Kartell’s operations for the United States and Canada, where the company has over 150 retailers and distribution outlets. 

Edward F. WellerSkidmore Owings & Merrill alum Edward F. Weller launched hospitality and office furniture manufacturer Weller Group USA at NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2007. The firm is headquartered in Aventura, Florida.

Scott Walker, president of Atlanta-based technology design firm Waveguide Consulting, is the first LEED-accredited Certified Technology Specialist in Design (CTS-D) by the U.S. Green Building Council

Eric EngstromFounder Eric Engstrom has retired from restaurant design firm Engstrom Design Group. Engstrom´s long-time business partner and CEO Jennifer Johanson is the firm’s new president and principal owner. The firm has a new name, EDG, effective immediately. EDG also has two promotions: Patrick O’Hare and Nancy Kalter-Dills move up to senior associate.

Synergy Enterprises, a NJ-based private investment and management advisory services firm, has acquired home furnishings retailer Domain Home from its parent company Aga Foodservice Group, a UK-based worldwide producer of range cookers and refrigerators.

Garrett Leather Corporation, a distributor of high-end Italian upholstery leather, has landed a contract with the General Services Administration (GSA). The firm is currently the only leather vendor with the GSA.

Dr. Amin JafferAlexis Egan McCarthy has been appointed regional representative in the Philadelphia office of auction house Christie´s.  In addition, Christie’s International, the auction house´s global arm, has two new appointments. Levina Li is vice president, director of business development for Asia and Dr. Amin Jaffer is international director of Asian Art. 

Appliance manufacturer Siemens, part of BSH Home Appliances Corporation, has teamed up with Anaheim, California-based merchandising group Brand Source for the national launch of its new collection of built-in luxury appliances. 

New York-based textiles, gifts, tabletop, and home decor showroom 7 W New York has two new showrooms. Home textile manufacturer Dan River Global is opening an all-inclusive 23,000-square foot space and rug manufacturer Surya Rugs debuts a 3,000-square-foot space. 7 W New York is managed by trade show and property management firm Merchandise Mart Properties.

Andrew ShabicaAndrew Shabica is senior product manager for W.A.C. Lighting, a designer and manufacturer of track, recessed, under cabinet, decorative, and monorail lighting.

Rina Carvajal
joins the Miami Art Museum as adjunct curator.

Hand-painted wallpaper company Partridge & Green have entered into an agreement with Ukrainian company Politex Trading to offer products to the Ukrainian market.

Business and marketing entrepreneur Cary A. Filsinger has teamed up with designer and custom furniture manufacturer Scott Arthur Yerkey to open Filsinger Chicago, a multi-line furniture showroom in the Merchandise Mart Design Center in Chicago.

Architecture firm Goring & Straja Architects has promoted Thomas Beil to principal.
   
Refrigeration and cooking appliance manufacturers Sub-Zero and Wolf recently launched new Web sites.

Interior designer Jeff Schreier has opened home furnishing retailer Schreier Home in Stillwater, Minneapolis.

Textile manufacturers Greenhouse Design and Irvin Alan Design have merged. The new company is called Greenhouse Design.
