The long-awaited Nasher Sculpture Center is coming to Dallas's Arts District, adjacent to the Dallas Museum of Art. Pritzker Prize–winning architect Renzo Piano designed the center's 54,000-square-foot building, defined by travertine slabs, glass facades, and a barrel-vaulted ceiling of glass and cast aluminum. Galleries will highlight real-estate developer Raymond D. Nasher's prize acquisitions—pieces by Auguste Rodin, Edgar Degas, and Paul Gauguin, to name a few—alongside loans from other collections. Research facilities, an auditorium, a café, and a bookstore round out the amenities. Opening October 19; 214-891-8570; nashersculpturecenter.org.
