Lightfair Boosts Education Offerings
Sessions include Effecting Human Behavior by the Use of Lighting Design.

Attendees to architectural and commercial lighting tradeshow and conference Lightfair International in Las Vegas this Spring will find an all-encompassing showdown of educational opportunities. The 2008 edition, May 26-30 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, will feature over 70 courses and more than 200 hours of programming addressing both lighting and business practices.
Lighting designers, educators, architects, engineers, and consultants will tackle topics including software and lighting applications, business and technology initiatives, design innovation, daylighting, case studies, sustainability, and product updates. Sessions include Effecting Human Behavior by the Use of Lighting Design presented by Ray Grenald, chairman of Grenald Waldron Associates; Lighting & Shade Controls in Daylighting Solutions presented by Eleanor Lee a scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Stephen Selkowitz, head of the building technologies department; and What is Daylight? Understanding the Sky as a Light Source presented by Michael Kroelinger, director and professor at the UNLV, School of Architecture. Off-site activities include a daylighting tour of Las Vegas buildings.
Attendees can pick up AIA, ASID, IIDA, IESNA, and IFMA accreditation, upon individual association approval.
The event is sponsored by the International Association of Lighting Designers and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America and produced and managed by AMC.
