The Liveable Lifetime Show House in Fayetteville, Georgia will demonstrate design elements that cater towards people of all ages and physical ability. Sponsored by the Universal Design Alliance, and running from March 11–April 1, the show house is the “first universal designed show house in the South,” according to press material.
Each room will feature elements—reasonably priced and practical products—allowing individuals to live comfortably and safely throughout their lifetimes. Rooms, designed by professional interior designers specifically trained in "multiple life stage design," will incorporate unique design strategies—not commonly used in homes at the present time. The house will be constructed by local construction firm Bob Adams Homes.
Special informational events about livable lifetime homes, including workshops and seminars, will also be available to attendees.
Project sponsors include the AARP, Sherwin Williams, VISTA Window Film, Mohawk, and Dupont Corian.
The Universal Design Alliance, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to educating the public on the benefits of home features-both interior and exterior-that promote enjoyment for a lifetime. Admission proceeds will benefit the EasyLiving Home Coalition and Universal Design Alliance educational programs.
We would love your feedback!
