Furniture manufacturer Inscape has picked up third-party green certification for a storage-based furniture system. The Storwal furniture system can now display the Greenguard Indoor Air Quality label from independent non-profit organization the Greenguard Environmental Institute.
Architects and designers can use products with the Greenguard label to earn LEED points in the New Construction and Commercial Interiors categories from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The certification insures Storwal passed rigorous testing criteria -- and the product does not release harmful chemicals into the air.
"We are committed to providing environmentally sustainable products and work environments to our customers, to promoting responsible practices across our organization and to challenging ourselves to continuously do more," says Peter Brunelle, president and CEO of the Holland Landing, Canada-based firm.
