Carpet and textile manufacturer Milliken & Company has named Dr. Joe Salley president and chief executive officer, replacing Dr. Ashley Allen, who held the position since 2005.
Interior Design Giants firm Gensler has appointed 11 new principals: Brian Berry, Richard Fencl, Philip Gillard, E.J. Lee, Nancy Nodler, Raffael Scasserra, Sidney L. Scarboro, Duncan Swinhoe, James Wallace, Warwick Ian Wicksman, and Chad Yoshinobu.
Furniture manufacturer Kimball International has named Jeff Fenwick vice president and general manager for its Kimball Office division.
John Newcomb joins Mexico City-based TEN Arquitectos as chief executive officer after 20 years as a partner in the Mexico City office of KMD Architects.
Lalaine Tanaka was named principal in KTGY Group, Architecture and Planning's Irvine office and will lead the firm's hospitality division.
The United States Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs has selected artist Bruce Nauman to represent the United States in the 2009 Venice Biennale, following an open competition and unanimous recommendation by the Federal Advisory Committee on International Exhibitions. Carlos Basualdo and Michael Taylor, curators at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, will serve as the U.S. Commissioners of the Biennale and will organize Nauman's exhibition through the museum.
Roy W. Huebner joins Culver-City-based design firm Wolcott Architecture + Interiors as operations and account executive.
Thomas Lehn is onboard LMN Architects as principal in charge of the firm's expanded interiors practice.
Alex Jean joins architecture, interior design, and engineering firm Cubellis as job captain in its Boston Office.
Buffalo, New York-based Garrett Leather recently purchased Sky Rugs, the California-based company responsible for manufacturing Garrett's custom leather area rugs.
Retail design firm Chute Gerdeman Retail has added David Birnbaum, Erika Buchholz, and Julianne Wallace to the design development team in its Columbus, Ohio studio. Connie Holland has also been hired as human resources coordinator.
Design Management Company, a consulting firm for the home furnishings and design industry, has appointed Tim Diffley to the position of general manager, based in the company's Los Angeles office.
Window and door manufacturer Loewen has added two companies to its product portfolio: Bella Vista Windows and Doors, based in Tuscon, Arizona, and Sliding Visions, located in San Marcos, California. Bella Vista is now known as the Loewen Bella Vista Collection while Sliding Visions products will be added as Loewen LiftSlide.
20-20 Technologies, manufacturer of 3D interior design and furniture manufacturing software, has acquired retail design firm Planit Fusion from Planit Holdings Limited.
