Rain-forest chic

As Rosita Missoni's ready-to-wear makes a subtle shift from zigzag to jungle, Missoni Home is following suit. The company now produces bed linens, curtains, towels, and bathrobes in black-and-white floral Hillary, zebra-striped Holly, and multicolored Helen—all cotton. Sold by the yard, too. T&J Vestor, 234 West 39th Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10018; 212-719-2338; missonihome.com. circle 316

Ralph Lauren Home

Time-travel to the golden age of the silver screen with the Modern Hollywood bar in parchment and polished walnut. See the platinum-blond starlet pouring the Scotch? She's checking out her look in the mirrored interior, which has two glass shelves. The cabinet proper measures 31 inches wide by 18 deep, and the entire unit stands 60 inches high. 867 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10021; 212-606-2100; rlhome.polo.com. circle 317

Cacharel

Think 1970's silk-screened T-shirts. Part of Cacharel's first housewares line, the Mali collection's glass trays are printed with flower motifs inspired by batik. The background comes in shades of Bordeaux, rosé, blue, and yellow. The round version is offered in 9- and 12-inch sizes; the squares are 6 or 11 inches. Armani Casa

A bracing hybrid of art deco and chinoiserie, Stefania makes it easier to rise and shine. The black-lacquered wooden breakfast tray is a generous 16 inches wide by 24 long but is surprisingly lightweight. Caffe latte not included. 97 Greene Street, New York, NY 10012; 212-334-1271; armanicasa.com. circle 319

Marimekko

Even among this company's lively spring offerings, Anna Danielsson's cotton Bottna stands out—with botanical-inspired graphics that look like a color-by-numbers canvas writ large. Available in black-and-white as well as black, white, and green. 4 Puusepänkatu, 00880 Helsinki, Finland; 358-9-758-71; marimekko.com. circle 321

Fendi Casa

Brian Fireman Design

The designer-founder of this company grew up hiking North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains, and his wooden furniture has a strong connection to nature. Take the gently curving avian silhouette of Heron. At 37 inches high, this walnut end table with flaming grain is part of the Appalachian line of tables, all handmade to order with a lead time of eight to 12 weeks. 85 State Street, Asheville, NC 28806; 828-712-6660; brianfiremandesign.com. circle 324

Stokke

Part Charles and Ray Eames, part Eero Saarinen, the Tok recliner and ottoman marry comfort with style and ingenuity. Jean-Charles Spindler

The Paravent Matière folding screen is an abstract triptych in wood. What appears to be dark brushstrokes across a pale canvas is actually a marquetry composition of petrified marshland oak seamlessly fitted into white chestnut. Aimara Masterpieces, 200 Lexington Avenue, 510, New York, NY 10016; 212-532-5060; spindler.tm.fr. circle 328

Kollection

At first glance, Fred Rieffel's Cabaret looks like a standard-issue steel café table, but closer inspection reveals a saucy curl in the top, either 14 or 17 inches in diameter. Baleri Italia

With the Other, 1930's deco meets 1960's mod. Serigraphed blue lines zigzag over the mirrored surface of the 50-inch-high piece, and woolen pom-poms dangle from a key in the top drawer. Coffee and side tables, a cabinet, and a mirror complete the collection. 8 Via Felice Cavallotti, 20122 Milan, Italy; 39-02-7602-3954; baleri-italia.com. circle 332

Kristalia

It's a bench. It's a table. It's CU. Monica Graffeo's versatile molded-polyurethane design is strong, stackable, and equally at home in the living room or by the pool. Eric Manigian Studio

Bandwidth is sure to see high-frequency use. The table's texture and visual rhythm derive from a mix of solid zebrawood and spalted maple, the latter salvaged from trees that would otherwise be left to rot or cut down for firewood. Ibride

Gasp Furniture

After breaking his ankle, Joaquin Palencia found inspiration for his TWH Grid II armchair at Tahanan Walang Hagdan. The seat is upholstered in black silk. 43B Major Dizon Street, Industrial Valley, Marikina City 1400, Philippines; 632-7527317. circle 340
