On the Move

Here's this week's roundup of who's doing what and where in the design community.

James Rogers, cofounder and former partner at Butler Rogers Baskett Architects, has acquired sole control of the firm's South Norwalk, Connecticut office, which Rogers has relaunched as James G. Rogers Architects. The new firm opened this month with former Butler Rogers Baskett Architects associate partner Christopher McCagg as principal.

Rebecca Nolan is the new senior vice president and managing principal in the St. Louis office of HOK. Nolan succeeds vice chairman Clark Davis, who is taking on an expanded leadership role for the firm's worldwide practice.

Belwith Products, a new company formed by management of Hickory Hardware, has acquired the decorative, prime door, and security product assets of Hickory Hardware from Melrose. Based in Grandville, Michigan, Belwith Products will design and market Hickory Hardware products as well as Belwith, Belwith-Keeler, First Watch, Period Brass, Designer Collection and Keeler Brass brands in the United States and Canada.

Lothar Birkenfeld has returned to his former position as CEO and president of custom cabinetry manufacturer Allmilmo USA Corporation. Birkenfeld headed Allmilmo from 1975 to 1996, and served as president of Poggenpohl U.S. from 1996 to 2007.

Fred Rodriguez has joined New York-based interior planning and design firm The Switzer Group as a senior designer.

Frances Atherton is the new director of sales at Santa Cruz, California-based home furnishings manufacturer Maria Yee.

Tim Penczar is the new Los Angeles-based Western regional sales manager for furnishings and textile manufacturer HBF.

Office furnishings manufacturer Trendway Corporation has enlisted Brent Baker & Associates as its sales representative in the greater Houston area.

Pacific Rim-based RIM Architects has promoted Kimberly Champion and Naveen Mathur to associates in its San Francisco office.

Syramada Hotel Corporation vice president Anthony Mangano has been appointed chairman of the board of directors for the 2009 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, which takes place November 7-10 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Steve Andrews is the new national sales manager for wallcoverings manufacturer Len-Tex Corporation.

Bathroom fixture manufacturer California Faucets has appointed Noah Taft to senior vice president of marketing and sales and Frederick Desborough to vice president of commercial business.
