ASID Awards

The American Society of Interior Designers announced this year's Educational Foundation award and scholarship winners. The Joel Polsky Prize for outstanding academic contributions to the discipline of interior design through literature/visual communication was awarded to John Pile for his book A History of Interior Design. The Joel Polsky Academic Achievement Award—recognizing outstanding research or thesis projects in interior design—was awarded to Nancy L. Wolford for her doctoral dissertation Universal Design Standards for Single-Family Housing. The Educational Foundation also recognized student portfolios through the Yale R. Burge Competition, with this year's first place awards given to Christine Keener and Melissa Pyell.
