Here's this week's roundup of who's doing what and where in the design community.

Nicholas Tamarin -- Interior Design, 10/17/2008 12:00:00 AM

Philippe Pezet is the new chief executive office and president of kitchen-system manufacturer Bulthaup Corporation's United States operations. Pezet was previously director of sales and marketing for custom wood flooring manufacturer Mafi.

Branding and design firm Shaw Jelveh Design, led by principal Marybeth Shaw, has opened a New York studio to join the firm's location in Baltimore. The new office will be led by senior designer Nick Chow.

National architecture, interior design, and civil engineering firm MoodyNolan has established a new Washington, D.C. office, led by executive director of operations Patrick Williams.

Boston-based architecture, interior design, and master planning firm Elkus Manfredi Architects has promoted John Martin to principal and Mark Allen, Alison Gillies, Cammie Henderson, Mark Sardegna, Andrew West, and Jefferson Willets to vice president.

Global architecture and consulting firm Woods Bagot is opening its first North American office in San Francisco. The office is led by design principal Patrick Daly.

Edward Belbusti is the new Southeast regional design manager for construction, general contracting and design-build firm Skanska USA, based out of the firm's Nashville office.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense program has tapped kitchen and bath product manufacturer Kohler Co. as their inaugural manufacturing partner of the year for the company's efforts at promoting water efficiency.

ADD, an architecture and design firm with offices in Boston and Miami, has promoted Tamara Roy and Karen Van Winkle to senior associate principal, and Kevin Collins and Jorge Enes to associate principal.

Designer Nancy Corzine is opening a new Los Angeles showroom in the former Niermann Weeks space at the Pacific Design Center on November 3, at which time they will also become the new Southern California representative for the Niermann Weeks line of lighting, furniture, accessories and textiles.

Trade show and property management firm Merchandise Mart Properties has hired two new leasing directors, Sheryl McAdams and Brin Perryman, for MMPI's six showroom venues in High Point, North Carolina.
