Unique Design High School Initiative

Peter Halsey Sherwood -- Interior Design, 5/1/2003 12:00:00 AM

The Designing Futures Champagne Breakfast is an upcoming benefit for Charter High School for Architecture + Design (CHAD), the nation’s only tuition-free, academic, college prep design-based charter high school for urban students.

According to Robert E. Fenza of Liberty Property Trust, and Chair of CHAD’s Business Advisory Council and Event Chair, "There is a lot of networking, a lot of fun, and, in addition, very important funds are being raised for an extremely worthy cause." Business leaders in such fields as architecture, interior, graphic and landscape design, engineering, development real estate and city government all gather together for the benefit.

Fenza further comments, "CHAD is a great opportunity for students interested in the design and construction fields. By supporting CHAD, we are supporting tomorrow’s architect, engineer, or designer."

A highlight of the Designing Futures Champagne Breakfast will be the 2003 Designing Futures Awards, and the CHAD Teacher of the Year Award. In addition, 30 of CHAD’s best and brightest students, The CHAD Ambassadors, the CHAD Hip Hop Dancers and Gospel Choir will participate in the event.

Immediately following the breakfast, CHAD’s Class of 2003 will hold its graduation ceremonies at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
