George Melas was named senior vice president at global consulting, engineering, technology and construction firm Syska Hennessy Group. Melas will lead the company's U.S. business development, marketing and communication teams.

Top Interior Design Giant firm Gensler has named 13 firmwide principals: Reja Bakh and Xiaomel Lee in Shanghai, David Botello in Dallas, Alan Colyer in Houston, Beth Harmon-Vaughan in Phoenix, Leslie Jabs in New York, Irwin Miller and Eric Stultz in Los Angeles, Joan Price in San Francisco, Dee Rendleman and Theresa Sheils in Washington, D.C., and Leda Woods in Chicago.

Benjamin Larance and Craig McInroy have been named principals in the San Francisco office of global healthcare and academic design firm Anshen + Allen Architects.

Houston-based healthcare and corporate firm O'Neill Hill and Associates has changed its name to Inventure Design.

National architecture, engineering, interiors, and planning firm SmithGroup has promoted Jodie Leppa to the position of office director and Roslyn zumBrunnen to studio leader in the firm's Minneapolis office.

The Council for Interior Design Accreditation's board of directors have elected Gensler's Midwest regional workplace leader Cary Johnson as board chair. Heather Robertson Corrigan, principal of Nova Scotia-based Robertson MacLean Design Limited, was elected as 2009 secretary treasurer and reappointed to the CIDA board for a three-year term.

Muhsin Lihony has joined the Folsom, CA office of international architecture, engineering and consulting firm HDR Architecture as associate healthcare principal.
