Perkins + Will Nabs National Building Museum Honor Award

The honor marks the first time an architecture firm has been given the award since its inception in 1986.

Lending credence to the axiom that longevity leads to recognition, 75-year-old firm Perkins + Will has been selected by the National Building Museum to receive its annual Honor Award.

The company was chosen for the honor by the Washington, D.C. museum—the first time an architecture firm has been selected since the award's inception in 1986—for its long term commitment to civic innovation in design, construction, and education. Perkins + Will president and CEO, Phil Harrison, will accept the award on the firm's behalf at a ceremony on May 11.

"The Honor Award salutes organizations that have made outstanding improvements to the built environment," says Chase Rynd, the National Building Museum's executive director and president. "We celebrate Perkins + Will for its dedication to designing buildings that promote the health of occupants, conserve resources and unify communities."

Harrison adds, "The National Building Museum's commitment to advancing the built environment has always inspired us. By being recognized with an Honor Award, we hope to inspire future generations of architect to practice socially-responsible design."
