Chicago’s Merchandise Mart is embarking on a new design frontier. From October 7-January 7, the home furnishings venue will showcase DreamHome—a nine room design house open to the public on the first floor, south lobby of the Mart.
The result of a collaboration between designers, DreamHome will feature a living room, bedroom, foyer, kitchen, library, home office, and dining room furnished with the high-end couture found in the Mart. Participants include Branca, Blutter/Shiff, Cannon/Frank, de Giulio Kitchen, Jon Schlagenhaft, Richar Interiors, and Soucie Horner.
Tours of showrooms, educational seminars and ongoing public events will coincide with the event, and a preview party on Thursday, October 6, from 6-9pm will feature the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
The 700,000-square-foot Merchandise Mart has 130 showrooms and more than 2,000 product lines.
We would love your feedback!
