United We Stand

Staff -- Interior Design, 10/1/2001 12:00:00 AM

The tragedies involving the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001, resulted in the most humane outpouring of support from all corners of the globe that America has ever experienced. Taking an active role in rebuilding the nation, the design community has pulled together resources and funds to contribute to the ongoing relief efforts. The following are some additional ways design and architecture professionals/firms can get involved:

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and IIDA Foundation are accepting donations to provide relief for adversely affected practitioners, firms, and their families. Checks should be made payable and sent to the Foundation at 203 North Wabash Avenue, Suite 1800, Chicago, IL 60601.

The AIA New York Chapter has organized an Action Committee to provide professional resources for the relief effort in New York. These include emergency building condition assessment, office space, services, or office equipment for displaced firms and organizations. For more information, visit www.aiany.org.
