Tales of Hoffmann

The Palais Stoclet in Brussels is often cited as the aria of Josef Hoffmann’s virtuoso architectural performance. Built between 1905 and 1911 as a home for banker and railway industrialist Adolphe Stoclet, the comprehensive design included furniture, decorative objects, and textiles. Archival drawings for these and other designs yielded the three viscose-cotton blends in Unika Vaev’s Hoffmann collection. Vertically and horizontally striped Linien, German for lines, is based on a pattern for glassware in the house and offered in 11 colors. Windrad, for windmill, is a nondirectional diamond-and-box geometric available in nine colorways including White Noise and Black Pixel. There are also nine color options for the jewel-like Bijou. 800-237-1625; unikavaev.com. circle 436
