Air Quality Sciences Renews Accreditation

The company conducts emissions testing.

Indoor air quality firm, Atlanta-based Air Quality Sciences (AQS) has renewed its accreditation as the exclusive United States lab that performs office equipment emissions testing for the European eco-label Blue Angel.

Launched in 1989, AQS first received accreditation in 2004 and has since reduced and qualified emissions for hundreds of manufacturers. The firm employs in-house chemical, microbiological, and environmental chamber test labs that are both ISO 9001:2000 registered, 17025 compliant, and AIHA EMLAP accredited.

Poor indoor air quality has been proven to cause asthma, respiratory disease, and symptoms including headaches, eye, and nose and throat irritation.

"It is logical to partner with Blue Angel, one of the world's most highly reputable environmental label programs. We hope to advance their efforts to champion good indoor air quality," says Dr. Marilyn Black, CEO and chief scientist at AQS.

The Blue Angel program is based in Germany and has used conservative standards to measure environmental performance in products such as printers, copiers, and multifunctional machines since 1977.
