Best of Year Winner, Seating: Residential/Accent: Bernhardt Design/Suzanne Trocmé — Allée

Suzanne Trocmé has transformed the utilitarian wood chair with a make-over. The multifaceted and angular Allée personifies a belief that simplicity and complexity can be partners in creating a universal and enduring design. The Allée chair, available in a variety of finishes and lacquers, is hand carved from solid maple.

Best of Year Merit Awards, Seating: Residential/Accent

Brian Fireman Design — Swallowtail Chair
The Swallowtail chair, shown in walnut with a cherry seat, is also available in a wide array of hardwoods. Swallowtail’s split, open back does not impinge on the sitter’s spine. The low-set arms easily slide under a dining table, making the chair equally suitable for dining or living room.

JANUS et Cie — Forest Side Chair
This sculptural seating offering features a timber-inspired silhouette that filters light to create boldly contoured shadows and invites organic elements into dining and lounge spaces. To maximize versatility, this design is built to withstand harsh elements, frequent application and stacks to four.

Poliform USA — Grace
Reinforces continuity with tradition and freedom of interpretation. Base in walnut c. and wenge-dyed ash. Upholstered seat and backrest in flexible polyurethane, covered with removable fabric and leather.
