The third annual DreamHome at Chicago's Merchandise Mart, on view September 28-December 1, is currently underway. This year the installation will offer nine decked-out rooms designed by local designers and include the House of Ideas, an installation focusing on common design dilemmas.

The rooms are: The Foyer by Tracy Hickman; The Living Room by Doug Nickless; The Bath by James Dolenc and Thomas Riker; The Home Office by Douglas Levine; The Bedroom by Matt Lorenz; The Dining Room by Martial; The Kitchen by Jessica Lagrange; The Media Room by Gary Lee; and The Courtyard by Sherry Koppel.

The House of Ideas will put the spotlight on dilemmas including green design, creating multifunctional space, displaying a collection, maximizing a small space, using color, and incorporating innovative materials.

Hours will be Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm; Saturday 10am-3pm. Proceeds from a voluntary $5 admission will benefit the University of Chicago Cancer Research Women’s Board. A preview party will be held September 27.

The DreamHome will be located in the North Lobby, Suite 130. The event is sponsored by Metropolitan Home, ICI Paints, and Kohler.
