DWR and Vipp Ask People to Can It!

A total of 35 architecture, art, design, fashion, and entertainment luminaries, including David Rockwell, Yves Behar, and Calvin Klein, customized Vipp trash bins for the auction.

They may be offering up waste baskets, but there is nothing trashy about the charity auction bin manufacturer Vipp and modern furnishings dealer Design Within Reach are co-hosting in New York for the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA).

With 35 architecture, art, design, fashion, and entertainment luminaries, including David Rockwell, Yves Béhar, Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Calvin Klein, and Yoko Ono putting their signature touches on Vipp's iconic white pedal models, celebrating their 70th anniversary, the auction is sure to be a boldface blowout.

The event will be emceed by Veronica Webb and take place October 28 at DWR's SoHo store at 110 Greene Street in New York. The DWR: Tools for Living store at 142 Wooster Street currently has the customized rubbish receptacles currently on display for viewing and bidding until the date of the auction.

All proceeds from the auction will be donated to DIFFA.
