Quebec Order of Architects Names Contest Finalists

In addition to 12 categories, winners will be named for People’s and Children’s Choice Awards.

Staff -- Interior Design, 2/12/2007 12:00:00 AM

The Quebec Order of Architects recently revealed the 30 finalists in the 24th edition of its Architecture Awards of Excellence. Narrowed from an initial group of 94, wining projects will be awarded in 12 categories on June 7. Additional awards will be given for People’s Choice and Children's Choice projects.

Between February 1 and April 30, the public is invited to vote online for its favorite of the nominated projects in the Prix d'excellence en architecture section. The project with the most votes will take home the People’s Choice Award. Architects of the projects nominated as finalists will make public presentations of their work during the “Architectural Marathon” events that will be held in Montreal on March 1 at 4 p.m. at the Canadian Centre for Architecture and in Quebec City on April 5 at 4 p.m. (location to be determined). Entry to the events is free, though online registration is required.

An educational segment for elementary school children is also available online, where students can also vote for the Children’s Choice Award.
