Pittsburgh Museum Addresses Post Industrial Cities

On March 24, the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will present a public forum on rebuilding post-industrial cities in innovative ways. Presented in conjunction with the exhibit “Gritty Brits: New London Architecture,” on view through June 3, the discussion will be led by London architects Sean Griffiths of FAT (Fashion Architecture Taste) and Niall McLaughlin of Níall McLaughlin Architects and local civic leaders.
Participating civic leaders are Raymund Ryan, Carnegie Museum of Art curator of architecture and organizer of Gritty Brits; Hilary Robinson, dean of the College of Art, Carnegie Mellon University; Jane Werner, director of the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh; and Pat Ford, City of Pittsburgh director of community and economic development.
Topics include challenges encountered in projects throughout Britain, focusing on London, as well as future plans for Pittsburgh. Attendees are welcome to join in.
The event will be held from 3pm–5pm in the CMA Theater, followed by a reception with a cash bar. Entrance is free with museum admission. The exhibit will be open until 7:30pm.
