Furnishings by New York-based manufacturer Brueton are now available in Los Angeles. Owned by Pacific Design Center alum Tom Hammond, formally showroom manager for furniture manufacturer Mirak, Brueton L.A. is located on Melrose Avenue, in the heart of West Hollywood's Art & Design District.
Hammond designed the naturally-lit, 3,200 square foot space. Freestanding walls enclose a series of furniture vignettes, rounded off with art and accessories. Shelving and countertops are dark walnut and cream carpet and cocoa-painted walls offer a soft backdrop.
The showroom will feature Brueton's contemporary seating, tables, and casegoods--including new products--and will serve as a platform for other furniture lines, including Mirak. Among items in the Brueton collection are the Pinnacle Dining Table by J. Wade Beam; the Selina K. Coffee Table by Louis Lara; and the Undulatus Bench and the America Sofa, by Stanley Jay Friedman. Friedman's designs have been part of the Brueton collection for over 25 years.
New Brueton products offered include the James T. Coffee Table by Mark Thorpe made from Macassar Ebony and stainless steel, the Pearl Dining Chair by Jaime Bouzaglo and the Mandarin Console of stainless and glass, and Raz Dining Table and Credenza both by Stanley Jay Friedman.
The Mirak line includes several pieces by designer Christian Liaigre and French architect Jean Michel Wilmott.
"Brueton has incredible strength in upholstery, especially in pieces like sofas, and lounge and occasional chairs, as well as with dining tables and chairs and coffee tables," says Hammond. "Mirak is very strong in beds, night-stands, chairs and occasional tables. Because of their difference in focus, Brueton and Mirak mix well together and are very compatible."
