Art and design will be displayed on the entire ground floor of Miami’s Buick Building.

Murray Moss and Franklin Getchell, founders of New York’s Moss Gallery, have a keen eye for the next big thing. For the duration of Art Basel Miami Beach, and Design05Miami, December 1-5, the duo will style the entire ground floor of Miami’s Buick Building with a southern satellite of their design atelier.

In an installation-like setting, large-scale “theatrical stages” will present for sale work from different artists and designers. Among the big names are Gaetano Pesce, with XXXL, Monumental Work; Fernando and Humberto Campana, with special studio pieces, including the Sushi and Banquette series; Tord Boontje, with one-off studio pieces, and the launch of the Autumn Blossom chandelier for Swarovski and the limited edition 24k gold Garland light for Artecnica; Patrick Jouin with the limited-edition, prototypical stereolithography C2 chairs and stool; and Dutch artist Maarten Baas, whose evolving series for Moss, Where There’s Smoke,  launches fourteen one-off “burned" iconic classics from Carlo Molino, Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Charles and Ray Eames, and Achille Castiglioni.

In addition, Claudy Jongstra will present hand-crafted felt textiles and German artist Josef Wackerle will showcase one of eight glazed terra cotta garden sculptures designed and executed by the ancient Porzellan-Manufaktur Nymphenburg.

The Buick Building is located at 3841 NE 2nd Avenue. The gallery will open on December 1 at 8pm, and then from 2pm to 11pm daily, December 2-5.

Art Basel Miami Beach is the sister event to international art show Art Basel in Switzerland.
